Another awesome reunion! This year the theme was "The Travis Generation" with an emphasis on the younger members of the clan. Once again we had fun renewing our connections, and making new ones!!!
Check out all the pictures on the Travis 2003 Reunion Pictures pages!!!
This was DEFINITELY a great reunion! We brought in the new Century and Millennium with a renewed connection to our great family tradition!!! Our theme, "Getting to know each other better" worked wonderfully! We all got to know each other much better!!! And had a great time while doing it!
And, how about that DANCE!?!? Was that fun, or what? Be sure to check out the Travis 2000 Reunion pictures to see how much fun we had.

The best Family Reunion of the Century was again held at The Nature Place (our own compound for three days) in the beautiful Colorado Mountains. We will continue to hold our Reunions here. We have our reservations made for the Year 2000.
Review (from The Travis Times newsletter, September, 1997)
"This was the best Reunion that we have ever had!" Was this statement made by most of the Reunion attendees because the food was the best, hands down, that we have ever had at a Reunion? Or because the weather was great? Or because we finally had a hay ride and streak fry?Or because they enjoyed the horseback riding and ropes challenge course? Or because the recreation was more conducive for families and because of adventurous, organized children activities? Or because the Photo Shoot was better organized and took half the time as usual? Or because of the Travis Programs and Talent Shows were better than ever?
YES, it was because of ALL of these things, but it was also because of the people who were there! The Travises that came were, from the very beginning, raring to go. The folks at The Nature Place can take some credit... they were very good hosts!
See photos from the reunion...
With activities at atmosphere galore.
This mountain resort just west of Colorado Springs was our best spot yet!
We had a record number of participants in attendance, totaling 136 family members.

This was the last of the three Reunions held on the Graceland Campus.
The Travis Family Foundation was formed at this Reunion. It was determined that there would be a Foundation Director, dues, a formal directory, and that the Reunions would henceforth be every three years.
Eleven out of the twelve "Originals" went to Graceland. Julia and Jim Closson initiated this Reunion. It is the first of the "modern age" Family Reunions.

At first it was just going to be a get-together of the Originals, but many of the families also attended. This was the first (and last) time that all of the Original Brothers & Sisters were all together!
Ten of the Originals were there, many with their families.

There have been many "mini-reunions and family get-togethers through the years. Some of which have been spawned by our "formal" Family Reunions. Some of the most noteworthy of these have been at Cris (Pearl) & Kathy Davies' home in Lee's Summit, MO and at Knight (Lee) & Bev Travis' home in California.
Probably the best well known get-together other than the Family Reunions was Percy & Winnie Travis' 50 Wedding Anniversary at their home in 1975. This gathering filled the gap between the 1967 and 1977 Reunions.
